Throughout much of the entirety of Belmont there is a thread of sexual intrusion upon the young and innocent Laura Mundo from a stepbrother, to a brother-in-law to a cousin to a first crush. Which is notable in the context of UFOlogy since she also claimed that George Adamski made advances at her, though only in public as a sort of exhibitionist persona. In private she said that he was a gentleman. Which is not to say that the aforementioned sexual indiscretions that she describe were not real but that it was seemingly omnipresent in her younger life. I take her at her word. Not as some me-too enthusiast but because many adolescent girls are often subjected to such indignities.
In this mention from page 119 the notion is exacerbated to a full-blown rape per Laura's brief account that, "Unfortunately, it must have excited one of the senior boys, too. One night, I was suddenly and unexpectedly, in my still-sexual ignorance, raped all-the-way, by the highschool football hero." Which came on the heels of her brother-in-law fondling her at age 14 and a summer of coming into her own philosophical awakening a la Thoreau. While I haven't yet documented the instances of sexual intrusions upon her person, I will backtrack to make accounting for it since it seemingly plays a significant role in her mental development and psyche. Will it be the same effect as the rape of Lucretia had upon the world at large in that it caused an awakening of consciousness or will it be more of an impediment on her psychological growth?
