One can say many things about Laura Mundo Marxer but none of it would ever include the word boring. She was a dynamo of interesting tidbits and sometimes mishmashed them all together while discussing any particular topic. Needless to say, her mind wandered. Not that it wasn't focused on the end-goal of cosmic vibrations and space aliens coming to deliver solar justice but each of these central tenants had corollary tales that had to be told.
In explaining her musical shortfalls on page 97 of Belmont, her autobiography, she complained that the keys of the musical scale were better suited to numbers than letters and refused to use the masculine, feminine and neutral variations for the German word for THE in front of nouns when she visited her German in-laws because they were "remnants of the ancient phallic philosophy-religion, called feminine, masculine and neuter. A knife penetrates or enters things, so is masculine - a table is receptive, so feminine, and a door-way is half and half, neuter..as is used only in English (the), for every noun, which I insisted, was sufficient in German, also. They could understand me. They seemed to find their American daughter-in-law amusing and refreshing; I loved them dearly."
Anton Franz, of course, is the sobriquet used in the supposed fictional autobiography for her husband Otto Marxer, his parents being Josef and Maria Marxer. I believe that they resided in Lichtenstein, where Otto was born before emigrating to the United States, but I may be mistaken.
