Two Recipes of Otto Marxer at The Dearborn Inn

Detroit Free Press, March 2, 1938

When Henry Ford decided to build an New England style inn in Dearborn in the early 1930s he imported the kitchen staff directly from that region. Included was Otto Marxer, a Lichtenstein born German man who had emigrated to America and married our anti-hero Laura Mundo. Not only could he cook but they also sighted their first UFO together over the inn.

Here are two recipes from Otto's days at The Dearborn Inn that appeared in the Blue Book of Cooking from the University of Michigan Alumnae in 1938: Sam Ward Fried Breast of Chicken and Baked Oysters Casino.
