Laura Mundo's copy of "Guest in the House"

Here's an unintended ghostly affect from my scan of Laura Mundo's (Marxer) copy of Guest in the House. A drama about a woman, Martha Proctor, who believes that something evil has come into her home. Laura acted and directed in several paranormal dramas in Dearborn theater in the '40s including Lo and Behold! and Blithe Spirit, which were both comedies and shall be featured later.

The inside cover and frontispiece of the aforementioned book illustrates Laura's copious notation, marginalia and underlining in some of the drama books and booklets in which she directed. One would assume that the more notes written would equal a greater interested in the play at hand.

Based on the notes shown below I would date the writing to the late 1940s when she divorced Otto and briefly moved to Miami and was directing and acting in the Coral Gables Country Club Little Theater. Foolishly, I left behind several photos at the estate sale from that time period but since none featured Laura and were of the cast and set they seemed trivial in the moment. They still are but sometimes I have buyer's remorse before remembering the impoliteness of TAKING EVERYTHING.
