Laura Mundo Marxer was not your prototypical unfulfilled, crackpot housewife with nothing better to do than go looking for flying saucers in the staid 1940s and '50s. She was active in both social clubs as well as the theater on top of her PTA and motherly duties. She was a rather well-rounded individual who seemingly rose to the upper ranks of every club that she joined from Dearborn Kim Club President to director of the Dearborn Players' Guild. Her sudden rise to the forefront of the UFO movement probably surprised most neighbors and acquaintances. This article includes the origins of the Kim Club and its relation to the Young Women's Christian Association as well as some of their activities in the mid 1940s when Laura was at the helm.
