In the lead up to Daylight Savings in 1954 National affiliate programming on WWJ Detroit television sought to shift the local viewing of Laura's children's show Playschool from 9 AM to noon to accommodate it. Parents and children were having none of it and rebelled sending hundreds of letters of protest into the station. The station besieged with opposition to their plan relented.
